Wichard Forged Shackles
Hot dropped forged from a single piece of stainless steel, adding strength and consistency of manufacture for total security and reliability. The technical characteristics of every Shackle is closely controlled and tested before, during and after the manufacturing process allowing Wichard to stamp its brand on them with every confidence.
CE marked in accordance with the Machines Directive 2006/42, these Wichard products can be used as lifting accessories. Each product displays the following information:

Forged Self-locking Pin Shackles < patented >
Forged in AISI 316 stainless steel for strength and reliability, these feature a self-locking pin where the head of the pin locks into notches in the body avoiding accidental release due to vibration. CE marked and stamped with the WLL - suitable for lifting applications.
Forged Captive Pin Shackles < patented >
Forged in AISI 316 stainless steel for strength and reliability, featuring a self-locking pin which is also captive in the body, eliminating the risk of losing the pin. Although captive, the pin still opens the full inside width of the shackle jaw. CE marked and stamped with the WLL - suitable for lifting applications.
Forged Key Pin Shackles < patented >
Forged in AISI 316 stainless steel for strength and reliability, Wichard key pin shackles have no thread, opening and closing with a simple half turn for quick and simple attachment. Also available in HR (High Resistance 17.4PH) stainless steel for higher loads.
HR (High Resistance 17.4PH) Shackles
Forged by Wichard from 17.4 PH stainless steel offering exceptionally high mechanical characteristics. These models are the preferred choice of ocean going cruisers and racers where high strength and total reliability is a high priority. Also, widely used in industry. CE marked and stamped with the WLL - suitable for lifting applications
Titanium Shackles Forged by Wichard from TA6V titanium alloy, these were designed for high-level yacht racing where weight saving is a high priority. Up to 45% lighter than a standard 316 stainless shackle.
Thimble Shackles.
Forged by Wichard in AISI 316 stainless steel for strength and reliability, these feature a plastic moulding to allow safe splicing directly onto the shackle without the need for an additional thimble.
Allen Head Pin
The main advantage of Allen Head Shackles is the flush countersunk head of the pin does not stick out from the shackle's body, giving a smooth feel and eliminating the risk of snagging.
Dyneema Soft Link Shackles
Wichard Soft Links offer the same strength as a stainless steel shackle with more flexibility and a weight saving of 4 or 5 times. Thanks to the unique stainless steel connector these soft shackles can be used without any knowledge of knots or rope work and can be opened with ease even after maximum tension has been applied.
Strip Shackles
We offer a wide choice of Strip Shackles manufactured by Blue Wave and Allen stamped from AISI 316 stainless steel sheet. They are generally used where a smaller, light weight shackle is required. Available with thumb screw pins, slotted pins or clevis pins.

Manufactured from AISI 316 stainless steel, these are an economical alternative to a fully forged shackle. Fully guaranteed they offer exceptional quality and value. Featuring round bodies and forged pins for extra security, this wide range is available in Bow, D, wide Jaw, key pin, Allen head and twisted versions in sizes from 4mm up to 22mm diameter.
